About Microfiber

Microfiber refers to synthetic fiber which is 1/100th the diameter of a human hair and 1/20th the diameter of a strand of silk. The weight of one strand of microfiber from earth to moon is only 4 grams. Microfiber is so fine that the surface of microfiber is huge different from same weight cotton. The chemical process used to split the microfibers creates a positive charge. Since the dirt has negative charge, when microfiber cloth gently put on dirt, light weight dirt will be absorbed into microfiber surfaces, which make microfiber cloth has super absorptive capacity for light dust, dirt (see the following illustration diagrams, modified from Wikipedia). It just like magnet picks up small tiny iron debris. When you see the dirt absorptive capacity is down, which mean the microfiber surfaces are almost full with dirt. Once you wash dirt out with detergent the microfiber cloth back to its strong dirt absorptive capacity again.
